Carly has dedicated the past thirteen years to studies in awakening and healing. In 2011 working as Co-Director at the London College of Spirituality, she was introduced to Sound Healing with the Alchemy Bowls which opened up a new path in her own awakening and service. In partnership with Sound Universe they started the first sound temple in London, providing training to support empowerment for people to share sound healing with the alchemy crystal bowls in their homes, with their families and communities.
In 2019 Carly had a strong call to deepen in her own inner studies, she moved to Portugal to live with her teacher at their home and ashram which is dedicated to self realisation. It is now her joy to combine her own studies of consciousness and sound and provide a space where you can deeply rest and be in harmony with the stillness within.
Carly’s Personal Journey of connecting with the Alchemy Bowls and Sound
Carly was first introduced to the crystal bowls in 2011 whilst she was co-director of the London College of Spirituality.
One evening, a guest teacher from Singapore, Yantara Jiro, came to share the bowls.
As he played, something happened that Carly had never experienced before. Her mind became completely still. Beneath the constant movement of thought was a profound peace that she hadn't known was there. She describes it as a deep remembrance.
She went home feeling completely altered. Something had shifted, although she couldn't explain what it was. Even now, Carly says she doesn't fully understand what happened that evening, only that it marked the beginning of everything that followed.
Around a year later, her partner surprised her with a set of alchemy crystal singing bowls, remembering how deeply that first evening had touched her. Carly reached out to Yantara to ask if she could study with him. What followed unfolded with remarkable ease. Rather than travelling to Singapore, Yantara flew to London to train her one-to-one, and before long eighty alchemy crystal bowls had arrived at her home.
Looking back, Carly has often said she never felt she chose the bowls. It always felt as though they chose her. Everything unfolded so naturally that she simply kept saying yes to what was arriving.
Opportunities soon began to open for Carly to share the alchemy crystal singing bowls in centres and healing spaces across London. Together with Yantara, she helped establish London's first dedicated space for alchemy crystal singing bowls, where they also offered sound healing training. Many people experienced the bowls there for the first time before going on to share them within their own communities across the UK and beyond. Long before they became widely known, Carly was quietly devoted to sharing this work, holding regular gatherings and supporting others to begin their own journey with the bowls.
After six years of sharing sound, holding large group sessions each week and supporting the growth of this work in London, Carly felt an inner call to go deeper.
She left everything she had created and moved to Portugal, where she spent six years living within a community dedicated to self-realisation.
Life there was centred around silence, meditation and contemplation. Days began in meditation, meals were eaten in silence, and everyday life became an invitation to recognise the activity of the mind and return again and again to the deeper stillness beneath it. It was during these years that Carly came to understand more deeply what she had first experienced through the bowls.
For Carly, sound is the vehicle that gently quietens the mind, guiding us back to inner silence, to presence, and to the essence of who we are. Through this remembering, we reconnect with the peace that has always been here.
Today, she shares sound as a pathway back to inner stillness. Her gatherings weave together sound and silence, creating gentle spaces where people can rest beyond the mind and reconnect with the essence of who they are.
Drawing on over fifteen years of sharing this work, Carly's trainings are about far more than learning to play crystal bowls. They are an invitation into presence, where learning happens not only through what is taught, but through direct experience. Students are supported to hold others with integrity, safety and care, while discovering their own authentic way of sharing this work.
Carly believes each person carries their own unique gifts and path of service. It is her joy to support a remembrance of who we are in our essential nature, to work with sound as a vehicle to embody that remembrance, sharing sound as a pathway for awakening, presence, coming home to the heart.
